The Wörld Is Mϊne

Greetings to whatever form of life hopefully still roams around this blog.

It has been a veeeery long time since I have written an actual post. I’ve been meaning to write it after the end of the summer festival season, then once we’ve got a new page design, then after we’ve got some additions to our team, then when I was about to leave for Oslo, then… well you get the point. It has been a while indeed and I am going to try to catch up on the things mentioned above. I do have more posts to write in the future about certain stomach-churning things in the music world, so it’s not gonna be that trivial all the time.

But yes, it’s -15̊ FC (fucking Celsius) in Helsinki, too much snow and Christmas decorations everywhere. All this indicates that summer festivals are long gone. In fact, new ones are in the making already. The summer of 2010 wasn’t so fruitful when it came to the festival line ups, so we have visited only Tuska and Sonisphere and made brief appearances at Sauna Open Air and Myötätuulirock. We were still extremely productive and managed to catch up with three bands out of the Big Four, who have thrashed through Europe during most of the Sonisphere Festivals. You have seen our interviews with David Ellefson of Megadeth and Dave Lombardo of SLAAAAYEEERRR. Another interview with Anthrax is in the works, so be sure to watch this space.

I remember when I wrote the first blog post at the end of 2009, I have made a wish to see Steel Panther and Alice In Chains the next year. Both bands came to Finland this summer, but I had to miss Steel Panther. However, we still might have a little surprise from them to post for you guys ;) I did get to see Alice In Chains at Sonisphere and it has absolutely been one of the highlights of 2010 for me. I hope the wishes you have made for this year also came true for you and if not, there’s still a month to go ;)

We do have an abso-fucking-lutely awesome new design as you have definitely noticed by now. It was made for us by Mr. Albert Buchatskyy who has also joined our German part of the team behind the Photocalypse lens. We’ve got wonderful Ms. Linda Nur Chbib who joined our Scandinavian part of the team behind the keyboard and who is going to supply us some amazing stuff in the future :)

I am absolutely loaded with interviews to work on and going underground pretty much till the New Year, but this only means that there will be quite some new articles coming up to read and like or hate. I, personally, do already hate at least one of them, but I also know that many people like the band in question.

2011 looks great when it comes to the concerts in Hell city: Black Label Society, Roger Waters, Rush, etc. Summer seems to be intriguing as Tuska festival has been moved to the end of July due to Live Nation Finland plotting something massive and undoubtedly awesome in the beginning of the month. And as you could’ve guessed, the title of this post comes from the upcoming Motörhead album called “The Wörld Is Yours”. It’s a yet another legendary celebration of rock’n’roll coming from these ‘geezers’, but that’s like saying that the sky is blue. It is Lemmy, for god’s sake, 'nuff said.

This makes the re-run of 2010 pretty much done. It’s time to throw guitar picks and drum sticks in the crowd, bow one last time and leave the stage.

- Proud to be loud.
Tanja
